Wool

Our sheep grow their wool on a diet of grass and haylage grown on the farm. Green Mountain Spinnery , a Worker-Owned Cooperative in Putney, Vermont, processes and spins the wool. The yarn is then passed on to our various makers who create beautiful, bouncy and soft pieces. One of which is Muriel’s of Vermont, a mother-and-son garment business who work alongside New England farmers and whom we closely collaborate with to create the sweaters you can find here on the website! The whole process is contained within a 200 mile radius as the crow flies for a climate sensitive and beautiful result.

Our latest collaboration is with Peggy Hart of Bedfellow Blankets who wove limited edition throws with 100 percent of our flocks signature wool on her 1940’s Dobby Loom. We are excited to support both new and old technologies in our fiber endeavors!
